Golf Courses at Nuevo Vallarta Have Been Rearranged

October 15, 2018

The golf course layout in Nuevo Vallarta has changed to accommodate Celebrate Park. The Nicklaus Course is no longer the signature course that it once was. Now the signature course is the Greg Norman course. In addition, there is a new (one year old) 10 hole, 3 par Executive course on the property. This is a fun little course with a "lotta watta" to avoid. Great chipping and iron practice.

For years, we have wondered about a map of the courses. Since there were no official maps, we decided to make one ourselves. The hole locations were provided by the resort, so we are confident the maps have level of accuracy. Regardless, take a look and print them out if you need a rough plan for getting around the courses.
The Signature Course - The Greg Norman Designed 18 Hole Par 70 Course
This is a beautiful course with long fairways and challenging 3 par holes over water. As always, watch out for the crocs. They love sunning themselves on the shores of the lakes. (Please tap the image to expand, then tap your browser's back arrow to return to the page.)

The Greg Norman Course is located across the Ameca River and near the new Estates complex. Orginally 18 holes, the area had to be expanded to include five holes for the Nayar Course. The Park took over five holes from the Nicklaus course.

The Nayar Course - The combination of the Jim Lipe and Jack Nicklaus designed courses.
The nice features of this course are the surroundings. Play starts on the Greg Norman course, then moves to portions of the Nicklaus designed course that extends eastward toward the highway and next to Jarratedaras, past Tower Five, onto the old entrance, across Blvd. Nayarit to the El Tigre side and the back along the condominums. Lots of fun and plenty of water and trees to avoid. (Please tap the image to expand, then tap your browser's back arrow to return to the page.)

The Nayar course plays on the Norman side of the Ameca River for five holes, then it crosses the river and continues to play the Lipe and Nicklaus designed course. The Park took over these five holes from the Nicklaus course.

The Lakes Course - a jewel during the day and at night.
You have to try this course at least once during your stay. Post your comments about how much you either liked or did not like the course by tapping "Comments" below. Tap the title to this paragraph to be taken to the Lakes Course page.
We have been told the 6th, 7th 8th and 9th holes of the Nayar Course will be moved to the Norman side of the Ameca River, for a total of 9 Nayar Course holes there. More changes are on the way, so.....Stay Tuned...!
