The Greg Norman course is scheduled to open on approximately December 1, 2015, and it will be a beautiful addition to the activities offered by Grupo Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Following are some photos that were taken in November, 2014. They provide a glimpse of what is on the horizon.

The Nuevo Vallarta property will soon have two terrific golf courses to play, which is a huge improvement!

So, how do these improvements affect member's golf benefits? For those of us who purchased contracts recently, not much. For those of us who purchased contracts in 2007 - 2012, there is clarification.
Consider what we have heard from other members and the Sales Department:
The Promotional Amenity Privileges addendum can remain in place if the member so chooses.
  • The benefits associated with the Promotional Amenity Privileges addendum cannot be used on new courses.
  • The price to play a course that is not included in the Promotional Amenity Privileges addendum will be the rack rate for that course.
  • Two complementary massages remain in place.
There are two levels of Golf Memberships:
  • Members who do not have the Promotional Amenity Privileges addendum:
    • Cart Fee to play is $45 NIC and $65 Norman
    • Massages - 2 for 1
  • Members who do have the Promotional Amenity Privileges addendum and choose to upgrade:
    • Cart Fee to play is $30 NIC and $45 Norman
    • Two complementary massages.
    • Additional Massages - 2 for the price of 1
Golf Membership privileges apply to existing courses (Acapulco, Nicklaus at Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Penasco, Riviera Maya and San Jose del Cabo).
  • Norman Course privilege is covered by an addendum.
  • There are no other benefits associated with the Golf Membership.
  • Once the Norman course opens this season, the opportunity to take advantage of the Golf Membership offer will expire for members with Promotional Amenity Privileges.
  • Members with Promotional Amenity Privileges will have next season to make the conversion.
  • An addendum for East Cape is under consideration now.
  • There is no limit to the number of rounds a member can book.
    • However, if the member does not show for a tee time, they will be charged for the round.
    • Also, the member that has the benefits has to be playing.
    • Booked rounds can't be passed along to someone else.
In our view, it only makes sense to clarify the golf options now that the Luxxe units are built out and the current plan is to open the Greg Norman course in December, 2015. The program offered to us in December 2007 was always a "Promotional" program, designed to make us happy during the construction phases. Little did we know that we would be part of such an enormous project that offers so much more than we ever bargained for.

  • Pro Shop to remain in the Residence Tower
  • 19th Hole is scheduled to open for the new season
  • Residence Tower Rooftop Pool is only for owners with Residence Contracts.
