Beach Club Activity - Nuevo Vallarta

June 20, 2020

The Mayan Palace Pools are mostly gone. Only the beachside portion of the infinity pool and the pools in front of Belche remain and are empty. The rest is dirt for now. We all knew that it was only a matter of time bofore a change would be made.

The Lagoons are dry. The rubber lake bottom sealing material appears to mostly be in place, but it looks like the lagoons are going to be smaller in size. Land is more valuable to developers than water.

Havana Moon is gone! New restaurants and shops will replace the structure.

A new building appears to be under construction at the Grand Bliss/Chiringuito's Sky Dream Gondola station. Will this serve the guests who enter at the highway or the central parking lot? Likely, the parking lots will open before The Park. Will the Gondola become a primary people moving system for contract owners too? Imagine a scenario where guests from the Park sit in the same pod as a family that is returning to Tower Four, Five, Six or the Residence Tower in bathing suits. It seems there will be lines, much like lines that form at ski areas. Who knows....only time will tell. Stay tuned....

How about the new beach club? Following is an architect's rendering of an architect's rendering showing what the developer had in mind a couple of years ago:

This photo shows the architect’s rendering of how the Mayan Palace pool areaway change in the future.

Beach Club and Restaurant Area - Original Site Plan - May have changed....

Current state of construction is all here, shown below:

Chiringuitos and The Sky Dream Gondola beach station remain. New construction at the Grand Bliss Sky Dream station may be shops and restaurants. Could it also be a new sales area? Do non-member guests coming in from The Park get off here or at the Convention Center Station? Photos show the affected area "before" construction started. Stay tuned....

  5. Waterfall in front of La Plaza is now empty as is the lagoon. Rubber underlayment for the lagoon remains, so it appears the lagoons will be filled again.

  6. Cafe del Lago - remains in tact.

This photo shows the Grand Mayan tower, the Grand Bliss Tower, the Mayan Palace Tower and Luxxe Tower 2 at Grupo Vidanta's Nuevo Vallarta property in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. The structure with the thatched roof is Cafe del Lago, a favorite breakfast restaurant on the property.

  7. Luxxe Tower One pools. No changes here.

  8. The Grassy Knoll - No longer. It appears a circular area on the left side of this photo is bordered by new trees that were planted in March, 2020 will become a new feature of some sort. Probably the location for two new restaurants.

The Mayan Palace Pool is behind the Palm fence in the background that hides the construction road to Costa del Sol.

  9. The Mayan Palace Pools - No longer there as of June 15, 2020.

  10. Havana Moon - No longer there as of June 15, 2020.

Luxxe Beach Construction 6 15 20

The Southern Beach Area as of June 15, 2020. A lot of changes. We will see construction going on in November during our next planned trip!

  1. Mayan Palace Infinity Pool - May stay, but in a reduced format.
  2. Luxxe Exclusive Beach area and Adult Pool - likely will stay too.
  3. Costa del Sol Restaurant - everyone's favorite as long as the service remains high. It is under repair now and likely will be available in November.
  4. Punta Pools - Remain in tact.
  5. Lagoon is empty. No rubber underlayment. What will this area become?
  6. Dry Lagoon bed. Dirt road. No rubber underlayment. Similar to Item #5 - what will this become?
Work continues on the property. There is a plan, but we only know pieces. The following images provide architectural renderings of what might be in store:

This area is where the beach club and restaurants will be located, and we will watch it grow over time.

Here are two restaurants that were imagined in 2018.

The Gondola is scheduled to be finished by "Winter 2020". We assume the other construction activity will be moving ahead by then too. Much to look forward at the end of the year, right? Stay tuned....
