Our View of The Bliss Resorts

We became aware of the concept of the Bliss Resort in October, 2008 when a fellow member provided us information showing that a name change for Grupo Mayan to Vedanta Capital Group had taken place and the brands under Vedanta Capital Group included new names, such as the Bliss Resort. The article said the Bliss..."is a plush resort currently under construction in Mexico."

This was news to us especially since we purchased our Grand Luxxe units in December, 2007 and we heard nothing of these events.

Since then, we have learned the Bliss is an upgrade to the Mayan Palace level of ownership. We understand many owners of Sea Garden and Mayan Palace rights to use contracts have since upgraded to the Bliss.

February 21, 2011 - We learned from a Bliss owner that there are no current plans to build a Bliss Resort at Nuevo Vallarta.

Then, in September, 2012, we learned there are 21 Bliss buildings at Riviera Maya. The question is, which ones are they? There are 11 Mayan Palace buildings overlooking the golf course, there are 11 new buildings that were under construction in 2011 and 2012 and 3 new buildings that have not opened yet, at least to our knowledge.

The Bliss Resort now has 21 buildings located on 338 acres owned by Grupo Vidanta. Other resorts at this location include the Grand Luxxe Residence Club buildings, the Grand Bliss (to open in November, 2012....maybe), the Grand Mayan and the Mayan Palace.

Based upon photos we have received from fellow members, Bliss units will be nicely appointed and homey units. They are upgrades to the Mayan Palace. We have received photos of these units and they are presented below:

Buildings With No Designation

Property Building Comments
Acapulco - This photo was taken on February 16, 2009. It is home to the Mayan Palace Playa. Lot's of rooms, that's for sure.

Riviera Maya This photo shows a building that is occupied and looks like a Bliss or Mayan Palace. The building is located at the ocean end of the Mayan Palace buildings on the eastern end.
Ron sent us a photo of this structure. It is in an area that was to be a Bliss in July 2009 the architect's renderings sent to us by John. Ron said the building is unoccupied in March 2010. Resort personnel would not confirm what the building would ultimately become. It is likely to become one of the 21

Agreements for Lodging Rights and Services plus any accompanying addenda define the terms of use for The Bliss Resorts facilities as well as the terms of sale.

The Grupo Vidanta International Sales organization creates many ways to configure offers to sell Lodging Rights agreements to prospective buyers. Generally, in addition to identifying the Member's names, the agreements specify the type of unit, registration numbers, Classification and Type of use.

Addenda specify additional benefits buyers may negotiate to include in their Lodging Rights agreements and can be valuable.

Terms of sales change with changes in the demand for and supply of the different levels of accommodations that become available to sell.
