Fake Attorney Representation - Alvarez Asesoria Y Defensa
October 2, 2018
Many of us have been offered the opportunity to participate in a suit that purportedly will bring actions against false Timeshare sales claims in Mexico. Attorneys appear legitimate, documents appear legitmate and the callers are convincing. Follow this link to another exapmple of sites to stay away from: T-PS 2018Oct4 Estates-Club and PJU AssociatesWhat is actually happening is the caller wants us to give up our confidential information and agree to pay for representation that will never take place. It is a shame we have to be aware of these scams, but it is part of our life these days.
This group - Alvarez Asesoria Y Defensa - called and asked if we would like to join legal action against firms in Mexico that touted false claims and cheated people out of their money. Yes, they are headquartered in Mexico, and of course it is impossible to do any due diligence.
Earlier this year we were asked by another group that said they were part of Mexico's Department of Tourism. Not knowing whether the caller was telling the truth, we sent an email to the Director of Promotions in the Department of Tourism. He responded, said the person who contacted us is not part of his department and that the offer is a scam.
We reached out to our new found friend to ask about this new opportunity. Following are copies of the emails sent to us, the documents the caller wanted us to sign and responses from Mexico's Department of Tourism. Bottom line: Stay Away!!
